Get the Best Vampire Fangs for Your Costume

Beware-Vampires!

Recently, I posted about an excellent video describing how to dress like a vampire. What I liked most about the video was that it suggested spending a large amount of your costume budget on your fangs, the centerpiece of any vampire costume. To give a bit more detail on that, I’d like to recommend a specific brand of fangs as well as a retailer.

During Halloween, it’s possible to get fangs at Halloween retail stores. However, you will pay a higher price for them, and the rush of the season tends to leave Halloween stores with some items damaged. Ordering your fangs online is the best way to purchase them, especially since you can custom mold them once you get them. This is also relevant to LARPers who might require the fangs during a non-Halloween season.

I specifically recommend Scarecrow fangs. They make several different types of fangs, including werewolf fangs (if you want to be a vampire’s enemy instead). Vampfangs.com offers a variety of Scarecrow fang products , some at a discount.

High quality fangs have several advantages: they won’t distract you, they look natural, they do not disrupt your speech, and most importantly, they are comfortable and natural feeling–very important for any LARPer. You can also take them out and pop them back in as needed.

The fangs come with instructions for molding.  You’ll want to mold at least a day before you have your event; this gives them time to set. Molding takes 15 to 30 minutes for a ‘new vampire,’ so leave yourself some time.

Additionally, Vampfangs also offers other costumes and gear for those wishing to dress as vampires–one stop shopping is always most convenient!
